The Pitter Patter...


I wanted you all to know about the sound of pitter patter of a new arrival in the Cotterill house.

I'm feeling all very emerging and excessively creative sitting listening to the pitter patter of our new MacBook. We are going all open source don't you know - It's been fascinating to say to Eryn - there you go - work out how to use it then let me know!!

Hi Gordon,

Another laptop I see. I too finally left the world of MS and bought a Mac Mini with the intel chip. Even bough MS Officer for the mac. Things go better with Apple. Enjoy the change.

It's good you've finally come to the light side! Domino Mail won't work on Safari but it mostly works if you download FireFox.

firefox - the first download completed! Do I need virus firewall etc... (or is it true that these are MS issues only!!?)

There's a firewall built into Mac OS X, but you could do with getting some virus protection (try Clam AV - it's free).

Viruses used to be a MS problem only, but people are starting to take interest in writing them for the mac now too :(

Nice Gord, but it is not open source as you say. Apple holds its source code as close to it's chest as MS. But is it a much better system!

Along the world famous Oxford street in London's Westend; nestled in among the classy frontage of designer shops there is almost an unnoticeable, unimpressive wooden door. It is more or less alongside The Regent Hall's main entrance onto the busyness of Oxford Street. People pass the wooden door oblivious to the equally unimpressive wooden steps that go up three storey's to what was Regent Hall's youth club. When I was 10 I played on these bare wooden steps totally unaware of the significance behind and upon which I played.
