The Independent -- Hitchens defeats Blair in Canadian religion debate

I saw this article from The Independent and thought it might be of interest to you

Tony Blair told an audience member at a debate yesterday that his religious beliefs did not play a role in his decision to support the US invasion of Iraq - but the votes went 2-1 the way of his opponent, Christopher Hitchens.

I saw it in the Guardian. Apparently 52% (if my memory serves me right) agreed with Hitchens prior to the debate starting, whilst only 22% supported Blair's position. Not entirely a unbias audience. Also, not sure about Blair vs. Hitchens as a fair match...bit like when Dawkins went up against Widecombe!

Along the world famous Oxford street in London's Westend; nestled in among the classy frontage of designer shops there is almost an unnoticeable, unimpressive wooden door. It is more or less alongside The Regent Hall's main entrance onto the busyness of Oxford Street. It is easy to think and to limit ourselves to a single approach to Christian spirituality. A 'if it works for me it should work for you approach' tends to narrow our appreciation of other ways which actually impoverishes our experience of spirituality. Urban T.
