pictures of reconciliation...

Nothing much stereotypical about it really. Patronising? Offensive? I'm not sure. I wish Anon had been there. (Check the comment slap here).

I wish he'd/ she'd seen the picture of reconciliation that 'Lift Him Up' International represented. I wish he'd/ she'd seen the picture of deep love and respect - to be honest I am sure that not everyone who was there wanted to be there really - but there was an identity that goes beyong tolerance which speaks of a deep love and respect. I wish he'd/ she'd seen the picture of oneness.

Ouch...I'd missed that little explosion of ire last month...very glad that the reality you're describing here proved something very different from anon's less than helpful comment. Do hope you're not still smarting from it, though, Gordon. It sounds as if you might have been?

It is easy to think and to limit ourselves to a single approach to Christian spirituality. A 'if it works for me it should work for you approach' tends to narrow our appreciation of other ways which actually impoverishes our experience of spirituality. Urban T. Holmes has developed a means of exploring spirituality and helps develop an appreciation through discovering links between spirituality, temperament and predisposition. The diagram illustrates his ideas together with potential inherent dangers. The vertical continuum speaks and helps us understand our relational orientation to God.
